World is seeing India as a ‘bright spot’ despite recession: PM Modi on Rozgar Mela

New Delhi, April 13( UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Narendra Modi on Thursday said that India is the fastest growing economy and the world is seeing it as a “bright spot”.
Addressing the newly inducted recruits under the Rozgar Mela, he said, the government is committed to giving the right opportunities to the talent and energy of the youth to fulfill the vision of a developed India.
Under the Rozgar Mela scheme the Prime Minister also distributed appointment letters to about71000 newly inducted recruits in government departments through video conference here.
“The whole world is facing recession after Covid, the economy of most countries is continuously falling… Despite this the world is seeing India as a bright spot” he said.
PM Modi said the new policy and strategy being followed by today’s new India has opened doors of new possibilities and opportunities in the country”.
Highliting other initiatives, the Prime Minister said, “Today, many such sectors have opened up in front of the youth, which were not available to the youth 10 years ago. The example of a startup is in front of us. Today there is tremendous enthusiasm among the youth of India regarding startups.
According to a recent report, the Startups have created over 40 lakh direct and indirect jobs in the country” he added.
The Prime Minister said that the last 8-9 years have been the years of transformation and the Capital Expenditure in the country has been increased four times of the earlier value.
“This has boosted both the employment opportunities as well as the income of the people” he said.
He said today new stadiums and new academies are being established and moreover, doubling of the Sports budget in the country is opening new doors of opportunities for the youth.

Congratulating the students who got the appointment letter, he said “The process of giving government jobs in BJP and NDA-ruled states is going on at a fast pace” he said.
Speaking about the contribution of the health sector for employment generation, he said “In2014 there were less than 400 medical colleges in India whereas today there are 660 medical colleges. Today double the number of doctors are being prepared as compared to before”
“Till 2014 there were 74 airports in India, now there are 148 airports. Due to the increase in airports, new employment opportunities have also opened up” he said.
Under the Rashtriya Rozgar Mela the government has decided to offer about 10 lakh jobs in the Central Government within a year.

Till date 2,18,000 jobs were provided in various central government departments through several Rozgar Melas.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various positions/posts under Government of India like Train Manager, Station Master, Sr. commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Inspector, Sub Inspectors, Constable, Stenographer, Junior Accountant, Postal Assistant, Income Tax Inspector, Tax Assistant, Sr Draughtsman, JE/Supervisor, Assistant Professor, Teacher, Librarian, Nurse, Probationary Officers, PA, MTS, among others.
The newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to train themselves through “Karmayogi Prarambh” which is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government departments.
