Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has officially become Kuwait’s new emir after taking the oath of office in the country’s parliament following the passing of his older brother, Emir Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who was 86 years old. Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is now the 17th emir of Kuwait.
