New Delhi, Aug 7 The suspension of Rajya Sabha Member Rajni Patil of Congress Was revoked on Monday.
She was suspended for allegedly posting on social media a video of opposition members protesting during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to the motion of thanks on President’s address.
As the proceedings of the House started in the morning, during the disposal of legislative business, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar asked Saroj Pandey to place the 74th Report of the Committee of Privileges on the Table of the House.
Pandey said the committee has found Patil guilty of allegedly making a video of the proceedings of the House and posting it on social media.
However, the committee recommended that the suspension of Patil should be considered as the fulfillment of her punishment, and her membership should be restored from today itself.
The proposal to restore the membership of Patil in the House was taken by voice vote.
Post that, Dhankhar said Patil could participate in the proceedings from today.
