Assam’s Priyanuj Bhattacharyya won the Youth Boys Under-17 title by defeating Punit Biswas from West Bengal 3-1 in the final at the fourth UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championships in Ramakotaiah Indoor Stadium.

In the Girls’ section, Syndrala Das of West Bengal beat Sayanika Maji of Delhi 3-0 to secure the crown in a match played last night.

The finals turned out as expected, with Priyanuj taking a strong lead from the start and dominating the game. Punit struggled under pressure despite winning a game against his opponent.

Syndrala, having experience against Sayanika before, played patiently and capitalized on good opportunities to win convincingly. Balamurugan’s unexpected defeat to Priyanuj in the Boys’ semifinals surprised many, especially because Balamurugan had previously won three consecutive matches this season.

Punit secured a place in the final by defeating Sudhanshu Maini of Delhi. Sudhanshu, who played well earlier, couldn’t progress further and settled for the bronze medal.

In the Girls’ matches, Sayanika redeemed her previous loss by beating Saanvi Roy 3-0, while Syndrala won 3-1 against Nandini Saha for a chance at the championship.
