Sargaalaya music show to honour Padma Shri Kaithapram On August 30

Kozhikode, Aug 4 Padma Shri Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, popularly known as Kaithapram, will be honoured with a ‘Music Mega Show’ by Sargaalaya Kerala Arts and Crafts Village here on August 30.
The mega-show series ‘Musical Journey with Masters’ will have ‘Pramadavanam’, a collection of songs written by Kaithapram and composed by Johnson, Ravindran, Ouseppachan, Bombay Ravi, Mohan Sithara, and Sarath, Sargalaya General Manager Rajesh TK said here on Friday.
Along with Kaithaparam, music director Sarath, lyricist BK. Hari Narayanan, film playback singer Manjari, Nishad, and Ajay Gopal (Kairali, Patturumal), Reena Murali, Nidish (Amrita,Superstar), Sarath (Amrita, Superstar), Ramlal Shammi (Kairali, Gandharva Music), and SriLakshmi (Mazhavil Manorama) will also attend the event.
On the third day of Onam, a musical conversation will be staged by popular singers and 20 eminent musicians who proved their talent in music reality shows, recording studios, and instrumental music in India and abroad.
Kaithapram, who won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist two times, was awarded India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri, in 2021 for his contribution to the field of art.
Sargaalaya, home to a Responsible Tourism model, is a comprehensive platform that focuses on the exhibition, sale, and training in craft making, aiming to put Kerala’s traditional handicrafts in the tourism trail.
Apart from showcasing crafts and craftsmen from across Kerala, Sargaalaya has a Crafts Design And Technology Development Centre that provides training for craftsmen on the latest techniques of production and encourages innovation in the traditional system.
