Pune, June 7 The Maharashtra becoming more progress day by day after the new industries are plunging in state continuously, said Director General of Police Rajnish Seth hereon Wednesday.
The police are making all-out efforts to create an environment of trust among entrepreneurs along with maintaining law and order here, said DGP.
Director General of Police was interacting with the journalists at the Police Commissionerate.
Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik were present on the occasion.
Director General of Police Seth said, if anyone is harassing entrepreneurs in the state including Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, they should report to the police without any hesitation which will further help to police to prevent the criminals in causing unnecessary trouble to the entrepreneurs.
In view of the increasing number of cyber and financial crimes, cyber police station will be started in every district of the state. The training will be given to the police officers-employees along with providing modern software technology to them. The young generation is getting involved in drug addiction which are serious concerns. But Measures are being taken by our Pune Police in destroying the rackets of the drug mafia are appreciated, added Seth.
Along with streamlining the traffic system in Pune city, the number of CCTVs will be increased to prevent crime. Earlier there were 1400 CCTVs in Pune city. Now 2800 CCTVs will be installed at 1000 new places.
Local businessmen should also install CCTV outside their shops towards the road, suggested DGP.
These CCTVs will be connected to the CCTV control room of the police. Trade associations will be appealed in this regard.
Talking about the condition of some police colonies in the city has deteriorated and said that it will be repaired with the help of Public Works Department. The new colonies will be constructed for the police through the Maharashtra Police Housing Corporation said Seth.
Especially in providing houses to the policemen within the premises of the new police stations,the DGP Seth said that it is usually no need for police personnel in cities where there are traffic signals. The Commissioner of Police should take necessary steps to take care of the health of the policemen who stand on the roads all day and regulate the traffic.
In case of death on duty or accidental death, police personnel are provided assistance up to Rs.10 lakh from the welfare fund. He said that financial assistance has been given to 78 police personnel in the state this year.
