New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) A 14th batch of 288Indians on board INS Teg arrived in Jeddah from Sudan, taking to around 2,700 Indian sevacuated so far from the strife-torn African nation under Operation Kaveri, while moreflights ferried the nationals back to India from the transit point of Jeddah.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet said:
“INS TEG continues to participate in #OperationKaveri
“It arrived this morning in Jeddah, bringing 288 Indians from Port Sudan.”
This comprises the 14th batch of Indians who were evacuated from Sudan under OperationKaveri.
Meanwhile, two flights comprising 229 and 40 passengers left Jeddah for India.
The spokesperson in tweets said:
“#OperationKaveri
8th flight carrying Indian evacuees takes off from Jeddah.
“IAF C-130J aircraft with 40 passengers is on its way to Delhi.”
“#OperationKaveri bringing citizens back home.
“Destined for Bengaluru, 7th outbound flight carrying 229 passengers departs from Jeddah.”
On Saturday evening, a sixth flight arrived in India carrying 365 Indians rescued from Sudan,totaling around 1,900 Indians to arrive in India so far.
“More Indians come back home under #OperationKaveri.
“365 passengers have just landed in New Delhi,” EAM S Jaishankar in a tweet said.
In the morning, over 1,600 Indians arrived in India.
On Friday night, the 13th batch of Indians, numbering 300 left on board INS Sumedha forJeddah where India has set up a control room.

Yesterday, two batches of Indians arrived in India – one batch of 362 Indians touched down in Bengaluru, while another C-17 flight carrying 392 passengers reached New Delhi.
When the fighting broke out between rival factions, there were over 3,000 Indian national sliving in Sudan, besides around 1,000 Persons of Indian Origin.
