According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), 61 journalists and media workers lost their lives since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict escalated on October 7. The CPJ stated that among the over 16,000 casualties during the war, approximately 14,800 were Palestinian deaths in Gaza and the West Bank, while 1,200 were deaths in Israel.

The CPJ highlighted that the deadliest day for journalists was October 7, during which six journalists were killed. The second deadliest day occurred on November 18, resulting in the deaths of five journalists.
